Hi! Potato Town
Collage of mixed materialsBased on my hometown and using collage techniques, Hi! Potato Town is a picture book about a girl who returns to countryside from city and observe the life of the people.
In her view, they are close and warm as family, but sometimes they are a bit distant, they like to gossip behind people's backs and get into conflicts because of politeness.
This work intends to reflect the intimate and contradictory interpersonal relationship in small environment. At the same time, I want to get out of my one-sided feeling about the matter of "greetings" and look at people and things in my hometown in a more open and comprehensive way.
My grandmother lives in a small town called potato city.
There are short houses next to each other.
I spend my summer vacation here every year.
People in potato town really really love potatoes .
Grandma is an expert cooker.
She can make potatoes into various shapes.
Today is as lively as a festival! When relatives heard of my arrival, they all came to lunch.
When my neighbors heard of my arrival, they brought all kinds of delicious food.
In potato City, everyone knows each other. Everyone was saying hello to us when we were walking on the road.
Unlike people in city, they just focus on themselves.

Some people always ask me to compare my height with other children.
Sometimes when you walk on the road, you will see many people wearing similar clothes.
There are also some people, They greet people warmly, and then secretly talk about others behind their backs.
