Born in 1998 in Shanxi, China, residing and working in Hangzhou. Ge Gao is a multidisciplinary artist working in illustration, painting, video, installation. She always explores female growth, emotional damage, and the sensitivity of human relationships.
"I grew up in a traditional Chinese family. Making is the process of visualizing imagination. When audiences see my works, they will capture different feelings. Those transmissions are interesting.” When she works with fiber materials, she is fascinated by the tactile impression of different materials, which makes her feel emotions in fabrics. For her, the creative process is healing herself and exploring her inner world, and the output reflects her subconscious.
