The Comfort Quilt

Many people have a unique sense of dependence on fabrics, and I wonder if these different types of cloth represent objects that we have been relying on without realising it? How people without comfort objects calm themselves when they feel insecure?

I made a quilt out of different fabrics, quilt is an object in close contact with the skin, and different quilts have different feel and smell. At the same time, it is everyone's most private object, can bring people beautiful dreams. For me, I often think a lot before going to bed, and I like the way the covers wrap me tight, like a hug, so I decided to use the quilt as a comfort object.

BRUISES

"Bruise" was inspired by my experience. After a relationship, there are many "traces" left behind. Even if you throw items all away, you can't erase memories. Because traces will always be there. The criminological theory "Lockard exchange principle" states that "where two objects come into contact, there must be a trace." So, do intimate relationships leave emotional traces?

I wanted to use physical traces of intimacy to represent a kind of unguarded honesty. Studies have shown that women are more prone to bruising than men because women's skin is more delicate and sensitive, just like their emotions.

Unlike an intense, instantaneous wound, a bruise always appears silently when unsuspecting. It is not clear when or where the injury occurred, but when pain was felt in the knee, purple marks appeared. Over time, its color changes from red to purple, then from purple to yellow, finally disappears, and the body gradually heals itself.
